I'm a sophomore in high school. I'm 5"9 and weigh 162. I was going to start doing the p90x lifting exercises (chest and back, back and biceps) Should i stick with drinking the recovery drink after my workout, or should i take a protein shake afterward? I'm trying to build more mass. I know protein shakes mess up your body if you drink too many of them, so i would drink 3 max a week. Any suggestions?

Just wondering which of these programs was better? Are they even the same thing? I was under the impression that P90x was more for muscle building, where as Insanity was for weight loss, but I could be wrong.

I already have Insanity(havent started yet), but do you think it would be worth it to get P90x as well?

Thanks for any input!

For those of you who don't already own a set of TO Bands or are thinking about purchasing another set I think I might be able to get TGL members a considerable discount if enough people are interested.

I have established a really close relationship with the owners of Bodylastics and on Tuesday we spoke about the possibility of distributing bands to a large group of people at a discounted price. How many of you have thought about purchasing a pair?

These bands come with a lifetime warranty no questions asked. They are shipping me a free set of TO Bands which should be arriving today for being a loyal customer.

Here is a link for more info on the company and the bands.

First off I would like to apologize to the TGL community for not being active in the fitness and nutrition forum. Over the last several weeks I have received several private messages regarding fitness and nutrition questions and I have yet to reply back to anyone. As you may or may not know I have a lot going on both at work and my personal life which is why it’s hard for me to reply back to any private messages I receive.

After giving it some thought I think I may have figured out a solution. I noticed that TGL now has a chat feature and I was thinking maybe we can all agree on a time to meet in the chat box so that you guys can ask me any questions you have regarding fitness and nutrition. I would also encourage Plugster, BTEP, and others to join me to help answer questions. Does this sound like something you might be interested in? If not I am open to suggestions.

Well I cut 22 lbs of weight over all in a 27 hr time frame yesterday for a tournament I had today. It was my first pro tournament and I left with my head down :(. It was a double elimination tourney and I went 2 and out...It was really a bad luck of the draw though because the 2 guys I faced finished 1st and 2nd. I found out in the arm wrestling world today that the end of READY actually mean to go (but they say readddy go to start the match). Anyways I was by far the strongest competitor in my weight class but lacked the table time and tournament practice to get it done. After the tourney I hung around and pulled most of the guys that I didnt get a chance to in my weight class and won all of those matches fairly easily. I also got to have my ass handed to me by a 63 year old man with hands that I couldn't even get a grip on because they were so thick (I mean fucking ridiculous boarder line deformed thick hands). Anyways I though I would come on here and cry about it before I started licking my wounds lol

EDIT: also I met John Berzink today and he is a arm wrestling god and I couldnt hold him for a sec on the table.

Does anyone play any wii fitness games? I know EA is releasing a new NFL training camp game that is a fitness game that looks cool. I myself have found myself working up quite a sweet when playing Wii Sports (the original) boxing and baseball. I also bought the wii fit board and game last yr and thought it sucked because it mostly consisted of balance games where you had to balance yourself on the balance board with very shallow dynamics. Overall I'm wondering if anyone has any favorite wii fitness games they would recommend.

Six days a week I crank out a 60- 90 minute workout with P90X or at the gym, but I'd like to follow that up with a competition style workout late nite when I've got nothing better to do. Often times I find myself at home at 1- 3 am with not much to do. I'll usually either watch TV or go on facebook. This is time where I really long for a competition style workout. I love playing basketball at this time by myself, however, as you can imagine, it is usually pretty dark outside at the park (safe suburb parks I go to) past midnight. I'd really like to do something competitive that'll work up a sweet. That is why I'm hoping I can find a cool wii fitness game that will challenge me to have to focus mentally.

Boy, I haven't played the wii since December of '09, it has been awhile... I'm really gonna have to dust off those nunchucks and console.
