Re: TLK *Weight Lifting Question*
I jog a mile, then do slow conservative sets or two of a basic lift for whatever im doing that day.
for example, today is bis/chest...so after my mile, ill do a set of 8 with 40 dumbells on curls, then to a set of 8 on dumbell bench....slow set with proper form... |

Oh and also, if it's called a workout ''program'', it probably sucks. There is no magic bullet, and everyone's body is different. Just because P90X gave someone a ripped up six pack in a few weeks, doesn't mean it will have the same effect on everyone. People need to get that **** out of their heads.

Re: TLK *Weight Lifting Question*
lol the way i see it ...anywork out that has a "name" was made for someone to make a big ass profit. I can give you two workouts that LK has given me, and then 2 more workouts that i got off the website that he gave me. I have never used the P90x but I dont think it can be nearly as effective what he gave me.

I max at about 230 (have a LONGGGG reach...but I'll keep that reach for Bball). Up until 2 weeks ago, I hadn't lifted for a good 6 months at least. I hit the weights pretty hard on Monday the 8th, was repping 155 just for kicks...then we lifted for another hour or two pretty hard...since then my arms have seemed extremely fatigued, despite me not lifting them hard...Almost to a point where 15 pushups is extremely difficult. Like I said, if you aren't certified, don't try to come in here and act like you're hot ish. Even if you are 135 and rep 155 about 20 times (BTW, ...not a big deal...) I could care less. I'm more concerned about muscle fatigue over anything. I know I'm perfectly capable of doing 155 10+ times EASILY. I did it 2+ weeks ago with no problem. Since then my arms have been lackadaisical and tired...That's why I asked about my cardio, in which I'm running about 4 miles a day, along with my nutrition. But again, you're I'm seriously LOL'ing right now. I weigh 210, and you think I'm incapable of putting up 155, let alone repping it? Puhleeze...Use your brain and read before judgement. I am incapable of repping it much more than once or twice, and my 135 warmup in which i just bench it until I feel stretch feels like a career... As for supplements, I'm taking arginine powder to help open up my vessels wider for more oxygen/nutrient delivery, it's just energy...not necessarily muscle building. It's just keeping me energized. I don't need creatine. I look plenty big, but my arms specifically (legs are fine/strong) have decided they want to quit... Last edited by ZAN; 06-26-2009 at 04:12 PM |

Re: TLK *Weight Lifting Question*
Oh i was just replying to that dude that said nothing is better than p90x. I don't think these workouts will help you with your goals. I can send them to you if you would like. There is no bench workout in any of them.
But here is my 2 cents Focus more on Intervals, not a distance when running. Just do like 10 intervals or something like that plus a warm-up and a cool down. You defiantly need to eat more than what you are eating. Like someone else said try to have a few snacks in there.

Re: TLK *Weight Lifting Question*
I'm not at all worried about bench max. It's overrated. Like that dude I replied to was boasting about bench...No big deal. Lots of dudes who bench a boat load can't pull up their own weight...
But I'm definitely interesting in hearing what you do for your regimen/nutrition. The thread was about my muscle fatigue more than anything...For those who think I'm weak and can't lift much, you're entitled to your opinion. I bench between 210-230 when rested (again, bench isn't everything). But my chest/bis have been dead for so long that I was inquiring about what's going on. The vast majority have been great help...but there's always one douche...it's expected... Last edited by ZAN; 06-26-2009 at 04:27 PM |

no way you can bench that. Its not about being a "bitch" its about feeding your body properly so it will perform for you. your body is a science project. do the right hings to it at the right times and it WILL come out the way you want it. your a clown man. wow. Zan dont listen to him. Plug and LK give good advice. Seriously though from what your saying I think im about your size. Im 6'2 230. I have started doing Jeff Andersons workout. He was in the miliarty, basically its all "weight training" just using your body. All I do is situps pushups, pullups, and milatary presses. Then I run during the week. On the runs you stop and will do dumbbell curls and pushups and what not. Its really awesome. I have seen HUGE gains in my flexibility. I feel so much more limber then I did before. Like i said prior if your looking for the free version of this check out Cross Fit. [Only registered users can see links. ] |

Re: TLK *Weight Lifting Question*
i can also atest (sp?) to the fact that benching sucks when you r tall and/or have long arms
anyways zan, the fatigue has to do with your diet, i guarantee it. increase your protein and you should get to where you want to be p.s. ur protein comnsumptiom should be 1gram per lb of body weight AT THE LEAST, to 2gram per lb...i stay in the middle and consume 1.5grams per lb cliffs: 1g per lb for cutting 1.5g per lb for maintenance 2g per lb for bulking |

Re: TLK *Weight Lifting Question*
Yeah, my diet has been fairly light. Combine that with running 4 miles a day and not enough protein, and that spells lowered weight maxes. I'm perfectly capable of benching 210-230ish on most days, but these past two weeks have been odd. Probably not a coincidence that my diet has been light for two weeks as well.
