Well, weighted is really confusing, because the college does their own weighting system with your grades. I don't know what your weight system is like, but at my school, if you are a freshman, unless you are accelerated, you do not take any honors or AP classes. Honors are available after sophomore year, and AP is available as a Junior at the earliest if you are not accelerated. The way my system works is .3 for honors, .5 for AP. The following LETTER grades are given this NUMERIC value.

4.3=A+
4.0=A
3.7=A-
3.3=B+
3.0=B
2.7=B-
2.3=C+
2.0=C
1.7=C-
1.3= D+
1.0=D
.7=D-
0=F

So if you get a B+ in an AP class, it averages in as a 3.8. An A- in an honors class is a 4.0. So I guess you could weight your GPA accordingly to see how you compare. But my school also has an amazing reputation. Top 15 school in a state with one of the best public education programs.

Also I know my friend got an 800 math, so if UMiami only looks at math and reading, then he has a 1450/1600 compared to 2080/2400.

Your school does plus and minuses?

My school i took my first AP class freshman year and all honors classes every year.

Its like this at my school.

Regular classes:
A = 4.0
B = 3.0
C = 2.0
D = 1.0
F = 0

Honors classes
A = 4.5
B = 3.5
C = 2.5
D = 1.5
F = 0

AP classes
A = 6.0
B = 4.5
C = 3
D = 1.5
F = idk

But yeaaaa thats how it is lol

Yeah for this year, My GPA at your school would be a 5.1.

At my school it is 4.16.

Your school really rewards you for taking difficult classes, where as my school does not really do that.

5.1?

The valedictorian of my sisters graduating class had a 5.1

Remember you have to average it out with all the other classes too. Are you ranked like top 5 in your school?

And by the way, as far as I know, every school in at least Palm Beach County has their high schools on the same system. I didnt know there was any other system until I saw your post.

I thought it was a universal system.

A in US II AP
A- in Chem AP
A in Stat AP
B+ in Spanish IV Honors
A+ in English 11 CP

6+6+6+3.5+4=25.5/5= 5.1

This is just for this year. I am not top 5 in my class because of my freshman year. But I am pretty sure I am top 15.

And as for universal system, I know when colleges get your grades they have their own system. I know U-Michigan only looks at your core classes from sophomore and Junior year. Then they use the
1=D
2=C
3=B
4=A
to calculate your GPA. They must have a weighting system, but I am not sure what it is.

Well thats only 5 classes lol. You gotta count every class youve taken in high school and we go by both semesters.

So for cumulative GPA/HPA, you factor in every class freshman, soph,junior, senior year, and by both semesters.
