Anyone else care to decipher the formation on the right?

So the Jets will get 1-5-5 and 1-5-5 Prowl..unless they are adding a whole new formation called just Prowl ..


I've only seen this so far, didn't slow down anything else yet.. I'll look at the videos more.

EDIT: Okay, I found another few interesting things.. I can't read some of these words in this image, but I made this screenshot from 20 seconds into the video. Most of the words are the personal stadium chants like "J! E! T! S! JETS! JETS! JETS!"..

Formation on right looks like simple 1-5-5, with the backers doing a cross stunt, 4 man rush with a cov 3 look. I hope they make the 1-5-5 less effective against the run. Sure it should be how it is vs. the pass. But how in the worl is it able to be a shutdown run defence in alot of cases.

Sounds good but I hope that they realize the full extent of how broken the flats are. They seemed so confident when they patched it. Where are these videos posted?

I'd rather have 09 rc + deep coverage exploits with rollouts, rather then flats being terrible. Reason? I user the safety!

Okay, I editted my main post to have the link to the video. These aren't videos, I'm pulling screenshots from this video that talks to each person involved, and I'm taking screenshots of things that are around the workplace for Madden 11.

Here's one straight from the "Ratings Czar" 's cubicle:

and at the top right of this SS I see "Indianapolis Colts vs Minnesota Vikings".. Don't know what that is for.

looks like some code because of the brackets.. almost like vb.net or c++ but I don't believe it is.

So his board basically says.. "We are going to make the A.I. more realistic. Acceleration/Diving/Changing Player.. we need to address these.. velocity is going to be sped up.. We need to communicate to the players hints" All of the words on his wall had a theme.. basically the ability to control a player.. and that player's speed/movements.


EDIT: Eventually, Mark Turmell says "that were trying to really focus on getting the players to act and behave like they do in real life, exactly how you see on Sunday."

Everything he says there relates to the topic of his whiteboard. He was probably working on it the day this was recorded.

I hate to be "that guy" but Its way too early to tell. The defensive gap assignments aren't even fundamentally sound even for a base "amoeba" style NFL defense like Prowl or Lurk. Just another variation of a defense like we saw from the Jets where everyone just sort of walks up to the LOS and from there all hell breaks loose.

This info is pretty intriguing. What's sad for us hardcore tournament players is that we're just more concerned with how the game PLAYS instead of the new features.

I wouldn't expect a Troy Polamalu/Ed Reed type responsibilities for a safety in the game yet. I'm just stating that there are new formations coming =) "Psycho" and maybe "Prowl".. unless it's just "1-5-5 Prowl".. either way.. neat !! NYJ get a new formation

Maybe because 40 yard dash just gives an estimate of speed?

My guess for the Jets Prowl is the Dime 1-4-6 that was in Madden 10 but got taken out at the last second. If you go back to some of the E3 videos from last year where people were using the Jets, they had a 1-4-6 dime package. But when the game was released it was not there. My guess is the OL couldn't handle it and it was more heat that 1-5-5 and other D's so they took it out.

Good point about the 1-4-6....I was really exited to see that this year. The guards are the main culprit when it comes to Madden o-lines not handling the 1 down lineman Ds correctly.
