Re: CyGamZ Bowl, Monthly Tourney, Ann Arbor, MI
Yeah I would do that. There is a local tournament around me that charges $20 entry free. 4-7 People = 60% payout from prize 8+ = 70% payout from prize. For a smaller local tournament that is the best to me.

After paying out, taking care of workers, lugging around equipment and buying games. The take of a tourney organizer is about 25% if that. Now if you want the promotors to take 95% of the profits, I am positive you can find that too. Educate yourself before you make such a ridiculous statement. |

Re: CyGamZ Bowl, Monthly Tourney, Ann Arbor, MI
Trust me u saw my cell blwoin up, i couldnt ignore it was my moms, then my bro, then some calls about my money but thats another story even my sis lol. Me and Cevon have played alot of money games and tourney games, he pretty knew what i was gonna be runnin, didnt really want to play him then he pulled the no huddle on incomplete passes which was str8 bull sh1t and he shoulda known that sh1t too, i coulda glitched him and even YOU but i wasnt gonna stoop that low but since "its not in the rules" dare to play me. U was good i threw some dum sh1t and bein side tracked i can tell u buy ebooks cuz pretty much all the sh1t u ran is all over the tip guides. I dont and have NEVER bought a ebook in my life but pretty much ppl runnin the same scheme. But whatever u got stick tho.

CYGAMZ isn't just some thrown together tournament by community leaders...it is a business. They are open 7 days a week...Workers are gonna be getting paid to be there wether people show up for the tournament or not. They host huge COMPUTER LAN tournaments for COD4, etc...You can rent time there to play video games... Sooo with that said, to take 50% is a waste of my time...I don't mind them making coin off my entree fee, but 50% is a bit steep...charge me $20 and take $5 and take you own words of wisdom, and educate yourself before you make a ridiculous statement...

I have been fortunate enough to have went to college(s) and the proud owner of several degrees, a good job, nice living conditions etc. I am living the American dream. I am insulted by your remark about the few community leaders that trhow events. This is a hobby for us and this hobby is why there are things such as the MC and Madden Nation. Don't try to minimize the effort of the few of us trying to do something. Your first mistake is dipping into the owners pocket book with a micro-scope. It's not your business that happens with Computer Lans, who is working there and what they get paid. He has the LAN because those people support what he is doing! So in your thinking he should just give the Madden funds away because he has others supporting COD4 etc????. The Madden events are seperate and should be treated as such. Your business should be with the Madden event, Instead of trying to lower the mans percentage, how about trying to help to get more players to attend. You can't have your cake and eat it too, people want HIGHER PAYOUTS yet they fail to understand that it is a 2-WAY STREET, It's a GIVE AND TAKE, You come, you support, we pay. To say that 50-50 is steep you are either naive or uneducated about tournaments in general WORLD WIDE. You are very carnival like and persons like you are the reason that Madden events have stayed stagnant while the other games move ahead. The man was talking about 50-50 and you are mad at him, while at the same time trying to take a mental note at counting his pockets and what his expenses are and what other gamers support? Get the BLANK outa here! Last edited by NJROD; 11-03-2008 at 03:23 PM. |

You're clueless when it comes to this specific situation, I have BEEN TO THIS EVENT, PARTICIPATED IN THIS EVENT...therefore what I am speaking on comes from EXPERIENCE. Sure, you have all the experience and knowledge, etc... when it comes to setting up you OWN EVENT...this doesn't fall under that category what so ever. CyGamz is owned by showcase cinemas...the venue, TVs, systems, controllers, etc...BEEN PAID FOR, they hire workers to work there just like they hire the dude sellin movie tickets. There no "counting his pockets" cuz there is no individual who is going out of there way to book a place, rent TVs, systems, etc... They should charge (for example) $20 and $5 goes to the house, while the rest is up for grabs/tournament participants....they don't make **** if I dont come...but they still gonna be paying dude to work there...its not costing them anything MORE to host this event...THEY ARE ONLY MAKING MONEY
