NCAA 11 BOWL GAME BONANZA!!!
Hey guys,
Join me this year as I will be playing each bowl game matchup either against the CPU or another human beforw the game is played in real life! I did this last year, most of the games against the CPU because it is sometimes hard to find people to play with certain teams online. But, if you guys want to do for fun human vs human I am in! Otherwise play it against the CPU, lot of fun. I will first do a SIM game CPU VS CPU before I play myself either once again vs CPU or another human. I want to keep track on how closely the scores are with real life, as well as the other features such as wins, stats, National Champions, everything involved. We will probably just all meet here with all the game inputs, your recordings etc...Haven't decided whether to do an individual thread for each game or not. I know there will be a lot of discussion about schemes with the teams involved as well as all the close similarities that we may encounter. Some things I want you guys to strive for. I want you to flip a coin to decide which team you will be using in that particular bowl. I already did for the SUN Bowl and I got Notre Dame lol. You can play if it is your favorite team but if no favorite flip the coin. You play on the level you wish using the sliders you are comfortable with. Quarter length and all the settings are up to you. I don't want you to be uncomfortable playing it is supposed to be for fun. Just make sure when you report back to the thread that you list all the settings. Come back and tell us some of the important info such as who won, some of the outstanding stats etc...We will compare to real life. Also, make sure you sim the game cpu vs cpu first, only takes a second. With the sim you only need the score but it would be nice to hear about everything else. I want you guys using the default playbook. This is important because it will open your eyes to other books, concepts, formations, and put ypou in a critical situation which is a very good thing that can only make you better as a player overall. So, if you drew Oregon in the National Championship Game then you use their playbook. I will have more details within the next few days about all the info you need to record. Join me, make yourself better at NCAA 11 with more knowledge about all the different playbooks we will be encountering. I will allow you to choose your defense because it will already be tough enough with a new offense, have to bakance things out to get some realistic results. If you would like to share any other ideas that we may use please let me know on this thread asap because I am writing them up as we speak, Lets Knock this out! Lets have some fun with this, and lets see how close and how ironic things can be with the video game and real life. Lets also open our eyes to some new schemes that may change the way we play NCAA 11! IRISH |

Re: NCAA 11 BOWL GAME BONANZA!!!
Here is a look at week 1, we need to move fast so you better start looking at those books and either developing some type of scheme or at least get to know who you will be playing with and depth chart as well.
We really need to do an individual thread with each game. That way we can discuss the strategy we used and all the important info. I will very soon give a template to go by when reporting results to make it easier foir you guys, That way all you have to do is concentrate on playing and having fun, Saturday, December 18 2:00 PM ET NEW MEXICO BOWL Brigham Young vs. UTEP* 5:30 PM ET uDROVE HUMANITARIAN BOWL Northern Illinois vs. Fresno State* 9:00 PM ET NEW ORLEANS BOWL Ohio vs. Troy* Get on these playbooks NOW with the team you drew by flipping the coin. Either play vs another human or CPU. Make sure you Sim the game first for Sim results. |

Re: NCAA 11 BOWL GAME BONANZA!!!
Format is being worked on now. It will be short and sweet where basically need the final score, what team you played with and settings, and finally a section on what type of scheme you devised with the playbook at hand. This format will be up tomm night (sunday)
looking at that fresno playbook, be a lot of sg tight flex users with the 'CROSSERS PLAY" lol. QUICK TIP, you may want to read my thread on what to look for when deciding on a playbook for NCAA 11. Maybe you want to pick 3 solid formations for a book that you will be usinf during this challenge and build a scheme from there. I promise this challenge will better your game, open your eyes, and help you to develop schemes on a regular basis. Many of us play very narrow minded myself included. Thats not a knock on you, what I mean is we are so used to the book we are using and the go to plays. Lets see how we react to critical situations with an unfamiliar playbook, hint hint, ability to hot route vs man and zone with the play at hand. You can call plays any way you wish. Last year , and I changed things up, but on fst down-- I would choose from ask coach 2nd down--I went to my 3 formation scheme we just talked about here and on another thread 3rd down--this is critical for me, its either back to the 3 formation scheme, or sometimes last year I went through the book and put my 3rd down plays in my regular audibles. No way is wrong, just trying to help you guys out under duress lol wait until NAVY plays lol! irish |

Re: NCAA 11 BOWL GAME BONANZA!!!
First week of bowl games are up with the basic format for info input.
Start getting an idea by skimming through those playbooks. Fresno is a very nice pro style book in which you could possibly scheme around Bunch, Strong I Normal, and SG Tight Flex as you 3 formation base. Then you can build from there. I will post more and more to help you with some ideas about possible schemes for the teams,' Don't hesitate to message me if you need to. We want to have fun with this but we also want to learn from this as well so some seriousness is a good thing. Think of this as a big tournament, get more guys involved if you wish, introduce them to some new ideas as we are all going to grow from this. There will be a ton of strategy talked in the next month, I mean a ton! |
