Here, bright and early!
Just had a game with one of the members here (or at least somebody who was touting the site). His gamertag is JJ Sticks, so chalk a referral up to him for my intro.
The final was 45-42. He was the Eagles and I was the Falcons. I'll spare you most of the details, but the game was absolutely nuts. I relied on the hit stick and strip ball button to keep me in the game (and my rushing game, which was virtually untouchable, albeit I failed to utilize it when I truly needed to). He had me cussing. He truly did. I wanted to morph into a dog and bite Michael Vick in the rear end by the end of the game. JJ Sticks, I wanted to cuss him. I truly did. I wanted to pull up the dashboard button and send him a piece of my mind, but then I just started laughing out loud -- literally. We had a really fun game. A lot of drama involved. My blood pressure was definitely rippin' through my body, but wow! But back to ol' JJ Sticks, his style lived up to his name. His stick skills are second to none. He was running around like a spider on the loose with DeSean Jackson whenever Jackson had the ball in his hands. I was going through my defensive playbook, frenetically trying to conjure up ways to stop him. But hey, I'm Gerard Smutler (yes, a play on words of the actor Gerard Butler's name -- friends joke that I'm a cross between him and other actor Hugh Jackman). I've been playing Madden online since the '04 dial up days on PlayStation 2. I'll be a regular here (at least until NBA 2K12 comes out ), but anywho, I'm glad to be here.

Re: Here, bright and early!
Appreciate the welcome!
You guys must know, though -- I'm out of the effin' loop. Just saw that Sticks is a seriously popular member around here (and rightfully so). Reading through his tips thread now. Very good information that I'm indulging in. I didn't get to play Madden '11 online. For whatever reason, I always had connection issues with it. I bought the game but never played it online (what a shame, right?). I was skeptical with '12. I played one of my friends' copies and it worked online, so I instantly decided to go out and drop $60 without hesitation. This is the first year I've been truly competitive since Madden '06. I've simply lost interest in games over the years. That, AND the fact that I've been busy. But with football returning, autumn rolling around and needing a good ol' pick-me-up, I'm back. And I'm loving it. By the way, JJ, if you read this, I'll concede a fact: if we played again, you'd likely beat me by 21+. If it means anything to you, just know that I love the strip ball button and the fact that the game gave me the ball after one of my defensive players picked it up while it was rolling out of bounds. No, I will not play you again -- I'll ensconce my three point loss and add it to the Gerard Smutler Echelons of Achievements. But I do thank you for referencing this site in your bio (I've heard of the Lab and visited it before, but it's been a long time). Anyway, I'm finished with writing a novel in this thread (for now). I'm just extremely excited to play Madden regularly again. |

Re: Here, bright and early!
Hey fellas, I'm back.
Shortly after posting this thread, a few days later something came up in my personal life that really trumped any kind of gaming for a while. I was out of the loop the last few months, but I've returned to gaming. |
