I was thinking of getting a new headset, mine at the moment is pretty used up. I was thinking of buying this headset sold at most GameStops. I kinda dont like the $20.00 headset the Xbox puts out cus of the placing of the mute button and the way the plugin for the headset to the controler sticks out. Anybody own this headset or has any experience with it. Any help would be nice before I pitch out 60 bucks for it.

Re: Xbox 360 Headset X1
Sounds good as long as you can afford a $60.00 headset . I don't use a headset i was thinking about getting the cheaper one but honestly i don't like to hear some of those dudes talk on xbox 360 i usually just turn down the volume on my TV when i hear some dude start talking.

Re: Xbox 360 Headset X1
Any game, you can even put a damn movie in and have surround sound. The headset has a USB cable that plugs into ur XBOX and then a set of AV cables that go into your TV. Thats why you can get the sorround sound no matter whats on.

Re: Xbox 360 Headset X1
I think it makes a big difference, it could just be me, more ppl with this headset need to post their opinion. But IMO, I dont think I could go back to a regular headset after playing with this one. It just even enhances the fun of the game to me.

Re: Xbox 360 Headset X1
Get the astro A40's if your into serious gaming for shooters.
![]() The best headsets you will ever get. Example: If your playing MW2, Ninja pro will sound like regular footsteps, and regular footsteps will sound like stoomps. Also it is extremely comfortable, and the surround sound is superb. I used to have turtlebeaches X1's, but Astro A40's takes it to a whole notha level. They are 200$ to purchase, but believe me, they are worth every penny. On my X1's I could hear the general direction of where the grenade lands, or where abouts the sound of the footsteps are coming from. With my astros, I can hear the prescise place in which the grenade lands near me, or where exactly the person is coming from near me, and from a fairly long ways away. |

Re: Xbox 360 Headset X1
i have been close to buying the wireless turtle beaches but damn they cost a lot. i wanted to ask if any of you have these, can you have the sound go through your headsphones and your surround system. so like if i'm playing i can take them off real quick and still hear the game sounds in my surround system? is there an option for that or is the sound only going into the headphones?
also does the xbl music player play through your speakers or also through your headphones? i thought it would be cool to play my streamed music to my xbox through the surround sound and then have my headphones on just for the game sound and i can have 1 ear on or off. or if the xbox music blends into the headphones with the game music?

Are these turtle beach headphones? I'm looking in to getting a decent pair without spending a whole lot of money. How are yours holding up so far?

Re: Xbox 360 Headset X1
Mine are perfect. I bought my x1's (wired) when I traded in a few old games, so I only paid $33 for them. MSRP is $59.99. Wires can be a bit annoying, but then again, you're not really paying attention to the clutter while playing.
